Exciting news!!!

Last Tuesday, I got some amazing news...

Here are a couple of hints...

(old documents)...

&

Did you guess it?!

I got an internship working on the Joseph Smith Papers!!!

I can hardly contain my excitement!
I'm so happy my job searching is over for at least a year!

Here's some of the details:
  • I begin the end of August
  • It's in the Church History Library in Salt Lake City, so I'll be moving back to Utah (looking for an apartment in the city)
  • I'll being doing editing and whatever else they have for me, such as source checking, research, etc.
  • It's a paid internship
  • It's full-time and will last for about a year
  • There are three interns total, and I think I actually know one of them from my Stowaway class last semester...
  • I get to work with original documents written by Joseph Smith and people who associated with him!
  • I'll get to learn a ton about early church history!
  • I'm SO excited to get started!!!
I honestly feel so blessed right now! I know this is Heavenly Father's will for me at this time--why else would I have applied for 30+ other jobs and not heard from any of them, and then apply for this one internship in Utah and have everything work out so quickly and smoothly?! In fact, my phone interview last week was AMAZING. I don't think I've ever had an interview go so well before! Basically, this internship felt right from the beginning, so I'm glad I pursued it. It makes the 4 1/2 hour test I took completely worth it...

And for those of you who don't know what the Joseph Smith Papers project is, it's basically this huge 10+ year project of compiling all of Joseph Smith's journals, correspondences, revelations, etc. and putting them in one easy source (20 volumes total) for scholars, students, and anyone interested in learning more about Joseph Smith, the church, or American history and religion. Pretty cool, huh? I encourage you to visit their website for more info: http://josephsmithpapers.org/

Life is so good! Things ALWAYS work out in the end!
